The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies (JCPES), America’s Black think tank, provides compelling and actionable policy solutions to eradicate persistent and evolving barriers to the complete freedom of Black people in America. The Joint Center is the trusted forum for leading experts and scholars to participate in primary public policy debates and promote ideas that advance Black communities. The Joint Center uses evidence-based research, analysis, convenings, and strategic communications to support Black communities and a network of allies. Currently, the Joint Center focuses on the future of work in Black communities, the impact of economic policies on Black communities in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, technology policy and Black communities, and congressional staff diversity.

The Opportunity

The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies seeks a Development Director to play a critical role in the organization’s ongoing efforts to nurture and deepen relationships with current funders, diversify funding streams by building new relationships, and optimize growth opportunities supporting its mission and programs. Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President of Development, the Development Director will serve as one of the external facing members of the team, securing funding to advance the organization. Joining a small team of experienced, inherently motivated professionals, the new Development Director will be organized, possess a strategic and data-informed mind oriented towards innovation, and possess a vision focused on advancing the Black community through research and facts.

The successful candidate will join the organization in an exciting period of growth and change, in both the Development team and the overall organization.

The salary range for this position is $125k-$145k.
