The Opportunity

The Director of Prospect Research will play a pivotal role in advancing the institution’s overarching mission of discovering, communicating, and preserving knowledge in a spirit of free inquiry.

In this role, the Director of Prospect Research will have the opportunity to drive fundraising efforts by spearheading comprehensive prospect research initiatives and leveraging data-driven strategies to identify and cultivate prospective donors. Reporting to the Senior Director of Research and Prospect Development, the Director of Prospect Research will lead a talented team of research analysts and collaborate closely with senior staff and frontline fundraisers to help steer and achieve University-wide fundraising goals.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, project management acumen, and a strategic mindset to navigate complex organizational dynamics effectively. With a minimum of seven years of experience in prospect research, fundraising, or related fields, including at least two years of supervisory experience, the Director will bring a deep understanding of wealth analysis, donor research methodologies, and best practices in prospect management.
