At the start of your search, your Search Team interviews key stakeholders to gain insight into the history, culture, context, and ambitions of your organization and the most important aspects and nuances of the position. These early conversations ensure alignment, enable Lindauer to represent you well in the market, and engage those who will influence your new leader’s success.
Lindauer and your hiring leader or Search Committee review the proposed timeline and agree on a schedule for updates. To ensure momentum and drive pace in demanding markets, dates are set for your Resume Review and later interview rounds.
Lindauer creates a comprehensive prospectus that includes the position description and highlights of organizational culture, structure, history, and ambitions. This primary sales tool is supported by a marketing strategy tailored to your search. We identify benchmark, peer, and aspirational institutions and high-potential recruitment channels to build our list of potential candidates and resources.
Lindauer’s personal, strategic outreach to resources and candidates is paramount to identify, inform and attract the most promising candidates. To create momentum and ensure your organization’s brand and strategy are current in the market, Lindauer launches and promotes your search across a range of digital and social channels, on our website, and in targeted professional networks and meetings.
Leading candidates are identified through rigorous interviews designed to evaluate how well they meet skill requirements and to ensure interest and readiness. At strategic points in the process, Search Consultants meet candidates, either in person or by videoconference, for deeper, detailed interviews and vetting. In advance of Resume Review candidate information is shared on a password-protected, web-based portal to ensure confidentiality.
Regular update meetings with your Search Team keep you connected and aligned. Once a cohort of qualiﬁed candidates is identiﬁed through outreach and interviews, you and your Lindauer Search Team convene for Resume Review. Through a process carefully focused on competencies to reduce bias, you select candidates for ﬁrst round interviews. Lindauer shares client interview tools and customized feedback methods, as well as leading practices to help you design a productive interview, visit, recruitment, and selection strategy, whether virtual, in-person, or hybrid approaches are needed.
In advance of meeting candidates for your Client interviews, all interviewers receive a package for each candidate containing a resume and personal statement. Most clients bring finalists back for a comprehensive second or final round of interviews or other community interactions to inform the hiring decision.
Lindauer conducts education verifications for all finalists, arranges additional background checks upon request, and provides in-depth written references for final candidates to shape a 360-degree view. Your Search Team continues to support you through all stages of the offer and negotiation, to ensure a successful placement.
