The Opportunity

The Director of Development will play a crucial role in strengthening the organization’s donor base and enhancing its presence within the community. The Director will work to align fundraising strategies with PEF’s strategic goals, ensuring that financial resources are allocated to initiatives that directly contribute to student success and educational equity. Bringing a deep understanding of the complex landscape of public education in the United States, the Director will leverage their expertise to foster strategic partnerships and advocate for policies that advance PEF’s mission.

This leadership position requires strategic thinking and strong relational skills to develop a comprehensive fundraising plan aimed at increasing philanthropic revenue from various sources, including corporations, foundations, and government entities. The Director will work closely with the leadership team to craft compelling donor communications and engage in cultivation efforts with individual donors and board members. Additionally, the Director will oversee PEF’s donor management software and provide regular progress reports to the leadership, fostering a culture of philanthropy within the organization.

With a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion, the Director will champion PEF’s mission and values while driving initiatives to support the growth and sustainability of the organization’s programs.
