UWC Atlantic, located in the historic St Donat’s Castle in Llantwit Major, Wales, is the flagship institution of the United World Colleges (UWC) movement. Established in 1962, UWC Atlantic is committed to the educational principles of its founder, Kurt Hahn, and operates with a mission-driven focus on using education as a force for good in the world.

The College, with its diverse student body of around 380 individuals from approximately 90 countries, emphasizes trust, responsibility, and accountability. UWC Atlantic is pioneering a Systems Transformation Pathway to prepare graduates for the sustained work of transforming socioecological systems and challenging unjust status quos. The institution seeks to address the growing disconnect between traditional education and the urgent needs of the world, fostering the next generation of leaders committed to sustainability, social justice, and peace.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate should demonstrate an exemplary ability to operate at both a strategic and an operational level, driving and embedding transformational change in an institution. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a commitment to recognizing and dismantling systemic barriers, will be critical in this role. Multilingual skills are preferred, as well as multicultural or cross-cultural global work experience. The successful candidate will embody a global citizenship perspective, demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

The Director of PEP will play a crucial role in building an ambitious philanthropic program, fostering a culture of excellence, and contributing to the overall success of UWC Atlantic’s mission and values.
