The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) at Perimeter Institute is a pivotal leadership role tasked with spearheading the advancement effort in the strategic development and execution of Perimeter’s ambitious mandate. Reporting to the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, the CAO is responsible for developing, leading, and implementing bespoke, sustainable, long-term private funding strategies. The goal is to diversify the Perimeter donor base and build ongoing donor engagement and commitment to the Institute.
In addition to focusing on external donors, the CAO will deepen internal coordination and capacity to deliver at the highest levels. In the process, the CAO will have a direct impact on Perimeter’s ability to advance diversity in the sciences and bring together brilliant minds worldwide for scientific breakthroughs.
The ideal candidate for this permanent position should possess a unique set of skills encompassing expertise in fundraising, communication, and leadership. The CAO will play a key role in the senior leadership of Perimeter, contributing institutional experience and knowledge of advancement practices to a collaborative and hands-on team committed to advancing the understanding of the universe at the most fundamental level.
