The Opportunity

Hampden-Sydney College seeks a dynamic and visionary Vice President for College Advancement to build on its solid fundraising foundation and drive ambitious future growth. The new VP will play a pivotal role in doubling the College’s endowment, completing fundraising for a significant facilities renovation program, and expanding both the major gifts team and annual giving.

Working closely with the President, senior leadership team, and Board of Trustees, the VP will advance strategic priorities and foster a culture of philanthropy and will be vital to the success of the College’s comprehensive campaign, set to launch its public phase this fall. The incoming VP will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive engagement strategy for alumni, parents, and other constituents, deepening their connections to the institution and inspiring philanthropic support.

Ideal candidates will possess a proven track record of fundraising success and the ability to lead a sophisticated college advancement operation. The role requires superior communication and relationship-building skills, a passion for liberal arts education, and a commitment to H-SC’s mission.
