The Opportunity

William & Mary seeks an innovative, entrepreneurial leader to serve as its next Executive Director, Alumni Outreach & Engagement, reimagining how more than 120,000 alumni connect with the University and one another.

This is an opportunity to shape a modern, inclusive, and data-informed model of alumni engagement that responds to the evolving needs of a diverse global community.

Joining William & Mary as it prepares for its next comprehensive campaign, the Executive Director will integrate regional, affinity, identity-based, generational, and digital engagement initiatives into a cohesive strategy. The leader will guide a multifunctional team through organizational change, foster collaboration across Advancement and the University, and introduce innovative programming that expands participation and deepens alumni connections.

The successful candidate will bring a combination of strategic vision, operational discipline, and relationship-centered leadership, with the ability to translate ambitious ideas into sustainable, measurable outcomes. Working closely with University leadership and the William & Mary Alumni Association Board of Directors, this leader will help define the future of alumni engagement and its role in advancing the University’s mission.
