The Opportunity

The Director of Development for the Global Futures Laboratory (GFL) at Arizona State University Foundation is a high-impact fundraising role driving the philanthropic engine behind one of the most innovative sustainability initiatives in the world. Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, this Director will manage a portfolio of major and principal gift donors, crafting custom strategies to secure investments of $100,000 and above in support of GFL’s mission.

In close collaboration with esteemed faculty, university leaders, and partner institutions, the Director will build relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations, inspiring transformative gifts that further GFL’s work in climate resilience, ocean futures, food systems, energy innovation, and beyond.

The Director will also work cross-functionally across the university to maximize donor alignment and enterprise-wide fundraising initiatives. Candidates should be strategic thinkers with exceptional communication skills and a strong record of major gift fundraising, particularly in fast-paced and complex institutional environments.

Whether helping prepare a faculty member for a major donor meeting or stewarding a global philanthropist toward long-term engagement, the Director will operate at the intersection of innovation, urgency, and impact, turning bold ideas into global solutions.
