Holocaust Museum Boston is preparing to open in late 2026 as New England’s first and only museum dedicated exclusively to Holocaust education. Located in downtown Boston across from the Freedom Trail and the Massachusetts State House, the Museum is being developed as a defining cultural and educational institution for the region. Through immersive exhibitions, survivor testimony, and innovative educational programming, the Museum will examine the consequences of antisemitism, hatred, and indifference while elevating stories of human dignity, moral courage, resilience, and choice.
As the signature project of the Holocaust Legacy Foundation, Holocaust Museum Boston represents a $110 million capital initiative supported by individual, corporate, foundation, and state partners. The Museum is intentionally forward-looking in its approach, challenging visitors not only to understand what happened during the Holocaust, but to reflect on why it matters now. Grounded in the belief that preserving historical truth is essential to protecting democratic values and strengthening empathy, the Museum is designed to serve diverse audiences across generations through state-of-the-art galleries, classrooms, and community spaces.
