Senior Vice President of Major Gifts

Ronald McDonald House Central and Northern Arizona
Onsite Phoenix, Arizona

For more than four decades, Ronald McDonald House® Central and Northern Arizona has offered families facing pediatric medical crises a place of stability, comfort, and community. What began as a single refuge has grown into three welcoming Houses across Greater Phoenix, each designed to keep families close to the care their children need. With 72 private rooms located minutes from world-renowned hospitals, the organization ensures that parents can focus on their child’s healing without the strain of isolation, distance, or the financial burdens of temporary relocation.

Each year, Ronald McDonald House provides far more than a place to sleep. Families receive meals prepared by volunteers, transportation support, and a compassionate environment grounded in care and connection. Whether staying for one night or many months, families find strength among others who understand their journey. Nearly all funding is raised locally, and as the organization strengthens its culture of philanthropy and prepares for new capital priorities, it is poised for meaningful growth in impact, visibility, and resources.

The Opportunity

The Senior Vice President of Major Gifts will join Ronald McDonald House at a pivotal moment as the organization invests in deeper donor engagement, expanded philanthropic strategy, and a path toward significant revenue growth. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the executive team, the SVP will be the strategic architect of an integrated development enterprise that aligns major gifts, planned giving, direct response, corporate and foundation relations, capital campaigns, and special events.

The SVP will oversee all revenue-generating functions while managing and mentoring a high-performing team that includes the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Special Events Manager, and future roles in direct response and major gifts. They will personally manage a robust portfolio of 60 to 80 major and planned giving prospects, ensuring thoughtful and strategic progression across cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Success in this role will require sophisticated donor segmentation, performance benchmarking, and disciplined use of data to strengthen both pipeline development and donor retention.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned, mission-driven fundraising leader to build a comprehensive strategy, execute a capital campaign, and partner closely with the CEO, Board, volunteers, and community stakeholders. The SVP will be an exceptional communicator and ambassador who brings energy, empathy, and a deep commitment to family-centered care.

For a collaborative leader with proven expertise in major gifts and team development, this role offers the chance to influence transformational philanthropy at a beloved and respected organization.
