For more than six decades, Strawbery Banke Museum has preserved and brought to life the stories of a remarkable waterfront neighborhood that reflects over 350 years of American history. Situated on nearly 10 historic acres in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the Museum welcomes more than 100,000 visitors annually through immersive exhibitions, educational programs, preservation initiatives, and community events.
Today, Strawbery Banke is among New England’s most distinctive living history museums, interpreting centuries of change through the lens of a single neighborhood while connecting visitors to the people, cultures, and experiences that have shaped the region and the nation.

The Opportunity
Under the leadership of President and CEO Linnea Grim, Strawbery Banke is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. The Museum has strengthened its financial foundation, expanded organizational capacity, and established ambitious goals related to preservation, audience engagement, sustainability, and long-term impact.
To help advance this vision, Strawbery Banke seeks an accomplished and relationship-driven Vice President of Philanthropy.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Philanthropy will serve as the Museum’s chief fundraising officer, leading a comprehensive philanthropy program that encompasses major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, membership, foundation relations, grants, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and future campaign initiatives.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and elevate philanthropy at a pivotal moment in the Museum’s history. With plans underway for Strawbery Banke’s 70th anniversary celebration in 2028, significant future capital and strategic initiatives on the horizon, and growing opportunities to expand philanthropic support, the Vice President will play a central role in securing the resources necessary to realize the Museum’s bold aspirations.
