The Opportunity

This is an exciting moment for philanthropy at Viewpoint School. As it prepares for a transformative capital campaign centered on arts and athletics, Viewpoint is seeking a Senior Major Gift Officer (SMGO) to join a talented and growing advancement team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, the SMGO will serve as a strategic partner and frontline fundraiser, managing a portfolio of 150 major and principal gift prospects, with an annual fundraising goal of $1 million or more.

The SMGO will build upon Viewpoint’s strong foundation of support to deepen engagement with alumni, parents, and friends of the School. A distinctive aspect of this position is its integration with athletics, which is a defining element of the Viewpoint experience. With more than 150 teams across grades 4–12 and a state-of-the-art Peak Performance Center, athletics offers a unique vehicle through which donors can connect with student development and school pride.

This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial, relationship-driven fundraiser to lead discovery work, pipeline building, and creative donor strategies at an institution where philanthropy is fully championed by leadership and embraced by a highly engaged community. With growing donor enthusiasm particularly around the arts and athletics, and the student experience, the SMGO will have the opportunity to harness the momentum to inspire meaningful giving and long term partnerships. Backed by a visionary Head of School and a sophisticated board, the SMGO will help advance Viewpoint’s mission and shape the future of its philanthropic enterprise.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 – $135,000.
