The Opportunity
Boston Children’s Hospital Trust is seeking a Senior Director, Principal and Major Gifts to join its fundraising team at a pivotal moment. The organization is preparing for a comprehensive, multi-billion-dollar campaign that will support transformative advances in child health and significantly expand philanthropic impact.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Principal and Major Gifts, the Senior Director will manage a portfolio of approximately 80 to 100 ultra-high-net-worth individuals with the capacity for seven- and eight-figure commitments. The role carries responsibility for securing $3 million to $5 million annually while guiding donors through the full relationship continuum, from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship. Success will depend on the ability to align institutional priorities with donor interests in ways that are strategic, thoughtful, and enduring.
The Senior Director will work closely with senior leadership, medical faculty, Trust Board members, and highly engaged volunteers, including leadership of signature initiatives such as the Boston Investment Conference and the Venture Philanthropy Network. This position requires a sophisticated fundraiser who can translate complex science for donors, build relationships beyond traditional pipelines, and mentor junior staff within a high-achieving, results-oriented culture.
For a seasoned frontline fundraiser, this is an important opportunity to shape the future of pediatric healthcare at an institution defined by both legacy and possibility.
The salary range for this role is $235,000-$275,000.
