The Opportunity
The Senior Director of Arts Education & Community Engagement joins Center Theatre Group at an important moment as the organization strengthens the connection between its artistic vision and its educational and community-centered work.
Reporting directly to the Artistic Director, this senior leader will shape the future of arts education, workforce development, and community engagement by creating a unified strategy that deepens partnerships across Los Angeles while expanding access to theatre for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Leading a talented team of full-time staff and teaching artists, the Senior Director will build organizational clarity, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and elevate the visibility of education and community engagement across the institution. The role offers the opportunity to partner closely with artistic leadership, Institutional Advancement, Marketing, Board committees, schools, nonprofit organizations, and community partners while overseeing a diverse portfolio of programs, departmental operations, strategic planning, fundraising support, and a $1.1 million budget.
This is an opportunity for a collaborative leader who can cultivate authentic relationships, inspire teams, and ensure education and community engagement remain integral to CTG’s mission, artistic identity, and long-term success.
The salary range for this position is $150,000–$170,000.
