The University of the Andes Foundation (UAF) is the primary philanthropic bridge between North America and the Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes), one of Latin America’s most distinguished universities. Established in 1957, UAF mobilizes support from U.S.-based alumni, donors, and partners to advance a mission rooted in academic excellence, access, and social mobility.
Uniandes itself is Colombia’s leading private research university, enrolling nearly 19,400 students across 11 academic units and maintaining a global reputation for innovation, inclusion, and impact. Its leadership, under Rector Raquel Bernal, is advancing a bold 2030 vision centered on transformation, equity, and international engagement.
Philanthropy plays a central role in this vision. With more than 40% of students receiving financial support and flagship programs like Quiero Estudiar driving social mobility, the University has cultivated a culture of giving that spans Colombia and the global diaspora. UAF amplifies this momentum in the United States, where it has significantly expanded its fundraising capacity in recent years. Backed by a committed Board and a strong institutional partner, the Foundation is poised for continued growth as it deepens relationships across key U.S. markets and strengthens its role in advancing Uniandes’ global impact.

The Opportunity
UAF is seeking an Executive Director is advance this mission.
As chief executive and primary fundraiser, this leader will guide the Foundation into its next phase of philanthropic expansion, building transformational donor relationships and shaping a strategic advancement program aligned with the University’s ambitions. The Executive Director will operate at the intersection of higher education, philanthropy, and international engagement, serving as the essential link between North American constituents and Uniandes’ leadership in Bogotá.
This role calls for a relationship-driven leader who can translate institutional priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities, grow a robust donor pipeline, and steward a vibrant alumni and supporter community. With a target of increasing annual fundraising to as much as $4 million in the near term, the Executive Director will bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution to elevate the Foundation’s presence and impact.
In doing so, they will help expand access to education and strengthen pathways for Colombia’s next generation of global leaders.
The salary range for this position is $230,000–$260,000.
