The Opportunity

The Director of Strategic Information Management (DSIM) position at MIT Sloan offers a unique opportunity to join a world-class institution at a transformational moment. With a new Dean and a major campaign on the horizon, the DSIM will play a central role in advancing the School’s philanthropic and engagement strategies by ensuring data becomes a catalyst for meaningful decision-making and impact.

This role is both strategic and operational, blending vision-setting with hands-on leadership. The Director will oversee data governance, analytics, and reporting for the Office of External Relations (OER), empowering teams to drive alumni engagement, optimize fundraising, and measure progress against ambitious institutional goals. Working across Advancement, the DSIM will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership and a collaborative partner across Sloan and the Institute.

The Director will lead a team of analysts and serve as the primary liaison to MIT’s central Resource Development and Alumni Association teams, ensuring Sloan’s systems and strategies are fully aligned with the Institute’s priorities. The position requires both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the strategic value of information, combined with the ability to translate insights into clear, actionable strategies that fuel fundraising growth and donor stewardship.

With oversight of information management, KPI tracking, and system optimization, the DSIM will be at the forefront of shaping how data supports MIT Sloan’s alumni relations and campaign efforts. This role calls for a leader who values collaboration, transparency, and innovation, someone energized by the opportunity to build systems, processes, and cultures that strengthen Sloan’s global network and philanthropic impact.

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$200,000.
