The Opportunity

The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) will play a pivotal role in shaping Excelsior Wellness’s future as the organization launches its first comprehensive advancement program and prepares for an ambitious $125 million multiphase capital campaign beginning in 2026.

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the CAO will build and lead the advancement function from the ground up, establishing the systems, strategies, and donor relationships necessary to support both immediate capital priorities and long-term growth.

This new senior executive will be charged with developing a scalable, sustainable fundraising program centered on major, planned, and institutional giving. The CAO will act as Excelsior’s primary fundraising relationship manager, cultivating partnerships with both high-net-worth individuals and institutional funders who share Excelsior’s vision for integrated, community-centered wellness. With a unique organizational model that bridges healthcare, housing, education, and social services, Excelsior offers a compelling case for philanthropy that resonates across sectors.

In this role, the CAO will guide the strategic reintroduction of Excelsior to the community, expand philanthropic reach, and lay the foundation for campaign success. This leader will have the opportunity to shape and grow a team, mentor staff, and establish the advancement department as a core driver of Excelsior’s transformational vision, including the creation of a groundbreaking 35-acre Wellness Village and an innovative intergenerational living community.

This is a career-defining opportunity to design and lead a new advancement program that will expand Excelsior’s impact for decades to come.

The salary range for this position is $150,000-$180,000.
