Following a national search led by Lindauer, Andrews will coordinate philanthropic efforts across the System’s member organizations.

Following a national search in partnership with Lindauer, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has named Christine Andrews, CPA, a veteran of nearly 30 years in medical and healthcare advancement, as the System’s first-ever Vice President for Philanthropy Shared Services.

In the newly created position, Andrews will streamline the System’s approach to transformational giving, allowing donors to support large-scale projects that improve healthcare throughout Maryland while furthering the System’s mission. She will collaborate with chief development officers across the System’s member organizations to create a collaborative model in support of philanthropic operations and the System’s strategic priorities.

“Christine has helped shape the strategic direction for multiple healthcare organizations across her career and we are excited about the tremendous opportunity for her to fill this new position and build opportunities across the System,” said Mohan Suntha, MD, MBA, President and CEO of UMMS.

Andrews comes to UMMS from Dartmouth Health in New Hampshire and Vermont, where she unified six diverse member institutions into a centralized framework, doubling their five-year fundraising average. Prior, at Hackensack Meridian Health Network in New Jersey, she led a 20-person team and established new donor pipeline tracking systems and a forecasting system for major gifts, and also helped shape the strategic direction at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.

“UMMS is a mission-driven institution with a long tradition of excellence and I look forward to working with member organizations and philanthropic partners to help meet the future healthcare needs of Marylanders,” Andrews said.

Christine Andrews was appointed in April 2024. The search was led by Lindauer Assistant Vice President Terri Rutter and Senior Consultant Raegan Harvey.
