As UTPB approaches its 50th anniversary in fall 2023, a year of strategic celebration is currently being planned. The increased attention and visibility generated through these events will reinforce UTPB’s bright future as outlined in the institution’s ambitious strategic plan. With leadership highly regarded and connected in the community, UTPB is poised to leverage existing relationships while engaging an entirely new cohort of local, regional, and national support.
The Opportunity
The University of Texas Permian Basin seeks a Vice President for University Advancement (VPA) to serve as a critical member of the President’s Cabinet. The VPA will build and lead a robust advancement enterprise inspiring a culture of philanthropy and collaboration. The VPA will report to the President and work closely with administrative leadership, deans, faculty, staff, volunteers, and other partners across UTPB to develop a highly strategic and well-coordinated fundraising and external engagement strategy to achieve University-wide goals.
The successful candidate will be a transparent communicator and bridge builder who has demonstrated an ability to forge strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders successfully. This individual will have a proven track record of success in securing major, planned, and principal gifts. The VPA will encounter willing and passionate partners throughout UTPB and the greater Midland/Odessa community eager to support the university’s philanthropic priorities.
