The Opportunity

The Vice President for University Development is a member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for the leadership of all UT Austin development programs. S/He will build and manage a comprehensive program that includes annual giving, major and planned giving, corporate and foundation giving, gift processing and acknowledgment, campaign and other fundraising support operations including donor relations and stewardship. The selected candidate will be expected to engage faculty, staff, students, alumni and the community in fundraising efforts. This multi-faceted position will translate a vision into action and as such will demand a bold, talented, inclusive and capable leader with strong communication and collaboration skills. The chosen candidate will use his/her experience to align and gain consensus between the president, provost, development staff and volunteers in all matters relating to development and the advancement of UT Austin’s overall objectives. S/He will also encourage collaboration between unit schools while cultivating and engaging prospects and strengthening the service-based model to the colleges and schools to maximize major gift activities. A dynamic track record of success leading a development operation, preferably in an academic setting, is required.
