Located minutes from Connecticut’s south coast beaches and shoreline and only 90 minutes from New York City, the University of New Haven is a private, coeducational university situated on an 82 acre campus. Founded in 1920, the college enrolls a diverse and vibrant student body of 6,800 in its 100 academic programs. The schools of arts and sciences, business, engineering, and fine arts have undergraduate and masters programs and the criminal justice program has a doctoral program as well. The school has been ranked as a top tier comprehensive university in the North by U.S. News & World Reports and it participates in Division II/Northeast-10 athletics. There are satellite campuses in Orange, New London and Old Lyme, Conn; San Francisco; and Italy. This is an exciting time for the university as it has seen a 34% increase in admissions and the addition of 20 academic programs in the past five years. Since 2016, the school has raised $76 million toward its $100 million Charger Challenge campaign.

The Opportunity

The University of New Haven is seeking a dynamic Associate Vice President for Advancement Operations (AVP) to provide strategic leadership to key facets of the University’s Advancement unit. This is a newly created position and reports to the Vice President for Advancement. The Associate Vice President will oversee the Annual Giving, Advancement Service and Alumni Relations teams. The AVP will also engage with key internal and external constituents including the President and University Officers.

The new AVP will lead the effort to grow the cross-programming efforts of units and be the creative driver in opening new areas of growth at key engagement points.
