The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSC-T) have recently united into one University — The University of Texas at Tyler. This administrative unification is great news for Northeast Texas as it brings together excellence in academic learning, medical education, and healthcare to benefit students, faculty, researchers, and the community. This empowering realignment and the recent investment of $95 million into additional educational and clinical facilities made by the Board of Regents, pave the way for a possible medical school, which will significantly increase the number of physicians and medical services in the region.
