Stanford Medicine, which comprises Stanford University Medical School, Stanford Hospitals and Clinics, and Stanford Children’s Health, has a long tradition of leadership in pioneering research, creative teaching protocols and effective clinical therapies. Over the last 60 years, through an unrivaled atmosphere of interdisciplinary exploration and collaboration, Stanford has produced many of the innovations that have sparked the biomedical revolution. In 2011, Stanford closed its $4.3 billion university-wide campaign, The Stanford Challenge, by raising more than $6 billion. In 2012, Stanford Medicine launched the Campaign for Stanford Medicine, an innovative philanthropic effort to build a new hospital and fund five other important priority areas.

The Opportunity

The Associate Director, Major Gifts will report to one of several directors of Major Gifts within Medical Center Development and will focus on the specialty areas of faculty. This position will directly manage a portfolio of approximately 50 major gifts prospects rated at $250,000+ for his/her assigned priority areas. In addition to direct fundraising, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing faculty relationships for effective development support and strategic support for other MGO colleagues. S/he will also provide campaign management and pipeline development for assigned departments. A proven ability to meet fundraising goals with a strong track record in managing and balancing donor/faculty/lay leader relationships is imperative to job consideration.
