The Opportunity

As its mission assumes even greater urgency, the Sierra Club seeks a Senior Managing Director, Major Gifts (SMD), to lead a dynamic team of major gift officers focusing on partners, stakeholders, and prospective donors in the West.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Advancement Officer, Major Gifts, the SMD will be part of a dynamic major gifts team raising $60–$70 million annually for the Sierra Club’s high-impact campaigns. The SMD will work in partnership with other senior advancement colleagues to strategize, implement, and reach fundraising goals that will continue to connect philanthropic priorities with the Sierra Club’s most important and time-sensitive programs and ambitions. This is a rare opportunity to advance the work of the Sierra Club at a critical time for the planet.

The salary range for this position is $120,000–$170,000.
