The Virginia Athletics Foundation (VAF) is a comprehensive fundraising organization with a mission to enhance and support the intellectual purpose of the University of Virginia (UVA) and its exemplary academic standards and traditions. Virginia Athletics features world-class facilities that support and enhance the student-athlete experience on and off the field of play. The Foundation’s vision going forward: Redefine how Virginia Athletics educates student-athletes at UVA by improving facilities and through the support provided as they study to achieve academic excellence, develop the necessary skills to become citizen leaders for tomorrow, and train to compete for championships.

The Opportunity

The VAF seeks a Senior Major Gifts Officer (SMGO) to achieve its mission and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics. The SMGO will serve as a key connector, relationship builder, and fundraiser to benefit over 750 current student-athletes in 27 sports. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative fundraising leader to provide support to the leadership team; further develop and build relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external; and advance the mission of Virginia Athletics. As a key member of the VAF, the SMGO will support all fundraising functions, including annual, endowment, capital, and planned giving, as well as special interest, corporate, and foundation programs.
