The University of Pennsylvania is one of the world’s leading teaching and research universities, situated in a dynamic and complex urban environment.
For the last two decades, Penn has achieved remarkable success as a result of the camaraderie, strength, and cohesion of the University’s integrated Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) team. Expanding upon this foundation, Penn is embarking on an exciting new chapter marked by a renewed emphasis on engaging supporters and realizing its philanthropic potential. As the institution welcomes new leadership and experiences unprecedented levels of enthusiasm, Penn seeks a Senior Associate Vice President, University Capital Giving (SAVP/CG) who will help the University reach new heights as a bastion of education, research, and discovery.
Serving in a newly created role, the Senior Associate Vice President, University Capital Giving (SAVP/CG) will lead an integrated group of fundraising units focused on top-of-pyramid prospect management and strategy, including principal and major gifts, international and parent fundraising, and gift planning. The SAVP/CG will elevate the work of DAR to achieve even greater fundraising results through collaborative, cross-disciplinary, and strategic prospect and portfolio management.
The SAVP/CG will be empowered to accelerate fundraising as a member of the organization’s senior management team. Working closely with the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, the SAVP/CG will play a vital role in the development of Penn’s next campaign to extend its academic and societal mission in the world.
Embodying an ethic of relationship-building with Penn’s diverse and growing constituencies, the SAVP/CG will create meaningful partnerships that shape a new era of growth for the institution. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead at a university with a storied history and a bright future.
