Since its founding in 1927, the Greater New York Councils remains one of New York City’s strongest nonprofit organizations serving the city’s children and youth. BSA-GNYC have helped over five million young people become “Prepared for Life.” Serving the five boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, the Councils have served 21,000 youth within a total youth population of 680,239; it is one of the few remaining purely urban Scout Councils.
The Opportunity
Boy Scouts of America – Greater New York Councils seeks a President, Chief Executive Officer, and Scout Executive to grow BSA-GNYC’s programs and revenues. Reporting to the Executive Board, the Scout Executive-CEO will provide direction to all operations and administration of the Councils, as well as serve as secretary for the Councils, the Executive Board, and the executive committee.
This is an incredible opportunity for an innovative leader to oversee the most urban and diverse Boy Scout Councils in the country.
