The Opportunity

The Executive Director of
Annual Giving
will lead one of the nation’s largest annual
giving operations and will pioneer new modes of engaging alumni and friends as
partners in supporting Penn State
University. The selected candidate will guide and oversee all annual gift
appeals while managing a team of 15 staff members who work in partnership with
colleagues at 24 campuses and in colleges and programs across the University to
pursue creative and comprehensive strategies for increasing annual support. The
incumbent will be expected to merge best practices from a successful annual
giving career and will focus on data-driven innovation in the field to help set
the standard for higher education fundraising. S/He will guide the integration
of robust, leading-edge analytics and donor research into every aspect of the
annual giving operation.

This exceptional opportunity requires a Bachelor’s
degree or higher plus nine years of work-related experience including a track
record of success in increasing annual gift support through innovative appeals
and targeted strategies. Experience in leading goal-oriented teams, managing
complex budgets and collaborating successfully with a broad range of colleagues
is essential to the success of this position.
