Director of Development

Operation Healing Forces , Tampa, Florida

Special Operations Forces (SOF), including Rangers, Green Berets, SEALs and Delta Force, have been found to suffer higher rates of depression, suicide, divorce, traumatic brain injury, PTSD and musculoskeletal injuries. Operation Healing Forces (OHF) is unique in its dedication to offering therapeutic retreats, peer-to-peer counseling and recreational therapy to encourage physical, mental and emotional healing of these SOF soldiers, spouses and their families. Founded in 2011, OHF now offers 25 retreats each year for active-duty, ill, and injured soldiers; recent veterans; and their spouses, helping more than 100 couples reconnect and rebuild relationships. OHF aims to work with 450 additional couples over the next three years. These safe, protected environments encourage participants to accept help and support to reclaim happy, productive and fulfilling lives. The programs are led by other wounded special operators, who can facilitate dialogue between soldiers and their spouses. The work of OHF helps Special Operations Forces families transition to civilian life or back to active service.
