The Opportunity

The Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will possess demonstrated success in securing major gifts from corporations and foundations. S/He will direct and coordinate university corporate and foundation-related fundraising activities, working closely with the Office of Research and Graduate Studies as well as with development personnel in the colleges/entities. The Executive Director will coordinate fundraising activity for special collaborative projects involving diverse scientific disciplines across campus, work with the Offices of RGS, Prospect Research, and Prospect Management to identify potential donors and conduct research of corporate and foundation prospects to document the current level and all points of engagement between the University and potential funders.

The Executive Director will also maintain a high quality stewardship process for active corporate and foundation prospects and donors and ensure that stewardship and reporting requirements are met to sustain successful partnerships. Three to five years of formal experience in corporate and/or foundation fundraising in higher education of a comparably complex organization is required. An advanced degree in higher education as well as knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethics of successful fundraising is preferred.
