The essence of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is its drive to tackle problems — especially those big, intractable problems whose solutions make a permanent difference. This storied research institution is not only committed to world-class inquiry in math, science, and engineering, but also has established distinguished programs in architecture, the humanities, management, and the social sciences. MIT’s Alumni Association is the gateway to its diverse, talented, and intellectually curious alumni, providing services and resources that strengthen their ties to the school and to each other throughout their lives.
The Opportunity
The MIT Alumni Association is seeking a dynamic leader and strategist to oversee a comprehensive annual giving program that reaches more than 40,000 existing donors and 250,000 donor prospects. This Senior Director, Annual Fund will collaborate with MITAA senior leadership, administrators, partners across the Institute system, and alumni around the world to ensure full integration of fundraising messages and activities.
This is a particularly dynamic time for the Annual Fund because MIT has recently embarked on a $5-billion MIT Better World Campaign aimed at amplifying the Institute’s distinctive strengths in education, research, and innovation. To optimize the Annual Fund’s role in driving participation and financial support for MIT and the Campaign, the Alumni Association is seeking a fundraising leader with at least ten years of relevant experience who has demonstrated superior communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
