The Cranbrook Educational Community has been called “the most enchanted and enchanting setting in America.” Each year, more than 300,000 visitors and students explore Cranbrook’s 319-acre campus, and they leave inspired by the breadth and depth of experiences accessible to them.
One of the world’s leading centers of art, design, science, and education, Cranbrook comprises a graduate Academy of Art; a contemporary Art Museum; a historic House and Gardens; Michigan’s natural history museum; a Center for Collections and Research; and a pre-K through 12 private, independent college preparatory school.
Today, Cranbrook, as envisioned by its founders, remains an expression of a dream fulfilled—a community that encourages intellectual and creative growth amid the art and architecture of its inspiring campus.

The Opportunity
In anticipation of its upcoming comprehensive campaign, Cranbrook seeks to expand its team with the addition of three Major Gifts Officers (MGOs), who will be responsible for soliciting private philanthropic contributions through major gifts from individuals and family foundations toward institutional and campaign priorities.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Cranbrook’s growing Advancement department through collaborative partnerships, strengthening of industry best practices, and identification/qualification of the institution’s expanding prospect base.
Reporting to the Director of Principal and Major Gifts (DPMG), each MGO will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and prospects to deepen their engagement with and giving to Cranbrook and strengthen the donor pipeline in advance of its next major philanthropic initiative.
