Founded in 1899, the Hackley School is an independent, college-preparatory, day and 5-day boarding school for students from kindergarten through grade 12. The school sits on 285 acres in the Westchester County village of Tarrytown, New York, just 30 minutes from New York City. With a commitment to building community among its 840 students, the Hackley School offers a broad array of arts opportunities, sports teams and clubs in addition to an expansive academic program. A new 115,000 square foot Center for Health and Wellness has recently opened on the campus which includes a fitness center and weight room, swimming pool, indoor track, and teaching kitchen, in addition to other amenities. The school is in the early stages of an institution-wide strategic planning process.

The Opportunity

The Hackley School is seeking a Director of Advancement to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Advancement Office, while serving as a key partner and direct report to the Head of School. S/He will oversee a team of professionals including the Director of Alumni and Development, the Associate Director of Advancement, and the Database Manager and manage overall office personnel activities. A member of the Leadership Team and Strategic Marketing Committee, the Director of Advancement will be responsible for building relationships and securing long-term philanthropic support. This frontline fundraiser will manage a portfolio of high level prospects and donors and develop and implement comprehensive annual and multi-year plans for major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, and alumni relations.
