The Yale Alumni Association (YAA) plays a pivotal role in connecting the University’s extensive alumni network, ensuring lifelong engagement, and fostering a sense of community. The organization aims to enhance and renew the lifelong Yale experience for all alumni, emphasizing affiliations, friendships, professional fulfillment, and acts of service worldwide. Through myriad programs, support structures, and engagement opportunities, the YAA empowers alumni to pursue their interests, contribute meaningfully to the Yale community, and positively impact the world.

The Opportunity

Yale University is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the next Executive Director of the Yale Alumni Association. The ideal candidate is connected to possesses a deep understanding of and connection to Yale and its alumni. They will play a central role in advancing the YAA’s mission of fostering lifelong learning and strategically guiding alumni engagement programs to align with the University’s values. The incoming Executive Director will bring a deep passion for higher education, strong management and communication skills, a talent for relationship-building, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Executive Director will lead and collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, while working closely with the YAA Board of Governors and reporting to the Vice President for Alumni Affairs and Development. This role presents an opportunity to build upon Yale’s strong alumni programs; amplify the energy, enthusiasm, and expertise of a global network of over 180,000 alumni; and contribute to the University’s broader mission of knowledge dissemination and cultural enrichment.
