Educate Girls believes that educating girls can change the world and it is the right of every girl to be in school and learning. The organization promotes and protects the right of every girl to gain a quality education by challenging patriarchy, enrolling girls in school, ensuring girls stay in school, and providing support to children to improve their learning outcomes. They design and execute programs in the areas of highest need for girls’ education. Since its founding in 2007, Educate Girls has ensured over 1 million girls in India have enrolled in school and has improved learning outcomes for over 1.6 million children. Selected from an incredibly competitive pool of projects, Educate Girls became part of The Audacious Project in 2019, with a 5-year funding commitment, and continues to secure many high-profile grants and prizes including the support of strategic donors and philanthropists like the Skoll Foundation and Mulago.

The Opportunity

Educate Girls seeks a multifaceted fundraiser and excellent relationship manager for the role of Director of Philanthropy (U.S.). The DOP will be responsible for harnessing the momentum and impact from previous transformational investments while focusing on stewarding and advancing existing relationships; identifying and pursuing new opportunities with a focus on major donors, charitable trusts, institutional funding, and corporate partnerships while serving as the primary driver of U.S. based philanthropy. The DOP is responsible for establishing an administrative presence in the United States and communicating to both donors and prospects the organization’s impact on education and the lives of children in India.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing relationships at the highest level within the areas of individual, corporate, foundation, and institutional giving. Candidates will bring an entrepreneurial spirit to this position, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and be strategic in creating and achieving ambitious, attainable, and measurable outcomes.
