Launched in 1970 at the forefront of the environmental movement, the Natural Resources Defense Council is the nation’s most effective environmental advocacy and action organization. NRDC is guided by the understanding that protecting the planet is about protecting people — our health, our communities, and our economy. At the core of its mission is a commitment to the belief that a healthy environment should be a basic right for all of us — regardless of where we live, what we look like, or how we vote. And it is relentless in its commitment to defend that right.
NRDC is hiring a Director of Development – Western Region. The director will manage a talented team of major gift officers while also carrying a high-value portfolio of donors with capacity to give at the six- and seven-figure levels portfolio and continue to develop a donor pipeline. The Western Region comprises of California and the entire west coast.
Working closely with the National Director, Principal and Major Gifts, the Director will be expected to plan, direct, and execute a major gifts strategy for the region in partnership with Donor Relations, Special Events, Membership, and all other development colleagues. This includes effective deployment of the fundraising team, leveraging senior leadership to accelerate giving in the region, and personally managing. There has never been a more critical time to join the team that helps create a world where all people have equal access to clean air, clean water, and thriving communities.
