Director of Annual Giving

The Madeira School , McLean, Virginia

The Madeira School is an independent boarding and day school that educates girls in grades nine through 12. Located on a scenic 376-acre campus that is just 12 miles from Washington, DC, the Madeira School was founded in 1906 by Lucy Madeira in the belief that it is our duty and privilege to help young women to understand their changing world and to have the confidence to live lives of their own making, their own passions, and their own dreams. The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director of Annual Giving will plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate a comprehensive annual giving program focused on shaping a sustainable growth in donor participation and annual operating support. This opportunity is ideal for a collaborative, data-driven individual who is excited about building and driving a robust annual giving program to fund Madeira’s exciting future.

Gretchen Warner, Head of School, who was appointed in 2020, describes her commitment: “Madeira’s mission and vision are to launch women who change the world and to lead innovation in girls’ education. At this moment in history, these guideposts are vital for the future of girls, women, and the world. I am passionate about girls’ education, and I am honored to lead the next generation of Madeira women. The ideals and values that connect our community, our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and our resolve to forge a pathway to a bright future will indeed launch women who will change a world in need of changing.”
