Room to Read envisions a world in which all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities and the world. It seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments, Room to Read develops literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and supports girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.

The Opportunity

Room to Read’s Development Director, North America, leads the New York- and San Francisco-based team responsible for fundraising from individuals and family foundations as well as corporations and foundations in the United States and Canada. The Development Director, North America, is also responsible for collaborating closely with the Global Partnerships and Marketing/Communications teams to support strategy for planned giving, chapter networks, and annual fund activities that impact fundraising in the North American market.
