The Opportunity

The Associate Vice President, Philanthropy, Foundation Relations will identify, manage, and execute
strategies related to foundation prospects and donors at the $500,000+ gift level,
with an emphasis on $1,000,000+ donations. In addition to managing Foundation Relations,
the AVP will lead the Foundation staff in increasing the involvement and
commitment of donors. Reporting to the
Vice President for Philanthropy and Campaign Strategies, the AVP will collaborate
closely with medical and scientific faculty and possess knowledge of trends in
research, clinical trials, community interactions and national healthcare. The
successful candidate will bring significant experience (7+ years) in development
management with an emphasis on major and principal gifts, as well as a
background in leading a team, engaging constituencies, and working with foundation
donors at the highest level. Knowledge of complex scientific or medical
concepts is essential, as is a deep understanding of the national foundation
landscape.
