The National Consumer Law Center proudly traces its roots to the 1960s “War on Poverty” and its work as a support center for legal services offices. Today, NCLC is the country’s preeminent advocate for low-income consumers. NCLC’s expertise includes policy analysis, high-impact advocacy, litigation, and extensive training for a nationwide network of consumer advocates.

The Opportunity

NCLC seeks an experienced professional to join the NCLC management team as the Chief Communications Officer. The organization is looking for a collegial and collaborative leader who can develop strong working relationships with internal and external partners and also has the requisite knowledge and skill to implement an integrated and cohesive communications strategy for the entire organization.

The CCO will work closely with NCLC’s consumer law experts to develop communications strategies that advance the organization’s goals. As a new position on the management team, the CCO will also work across organizational units to improve the coordination of messages sent to external audiences. Key constituencies include state and federal decision makers, influential journalists and media outlets, other advocacy organizations, and members of the consumer law community.
