A premier independent, coeducational day school, The Lovett School fosters “a community of belonging” where students develop the “cheerful resilience to thrive.” Lovett was founded in 1926 and serves more than 1,600 students from Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Every student comes to The Lovett School on the first steps of a journey uniquely their own — already steered by individual strengths and personal passions, already shaped by innate talents and distinctive graces. Fostering inquisitive minds as well as joyful spirits, strong bodies, good characters, and empathetic hearts, Lovett’s approach is guided by the values of their founder, Eva Edwards Lovett — an innovative educator who emphasized whole-child development, education through doing, and joyful learning. Their continuing mission is to provide experiences that inspire an enduring enthusiasm for learning and to graduate young people of honor, faith, and wisdom.
The Lovett School seeks a seasoned Chief Advancement Officer to lead and grow its advancement team. This role will report directly to the Head of School, serve as a member of the Administrative Senior Leadership Team, and be responsible for developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the school’s philanthropic priorities. As the school prepares to move into a comprehensive campaign, the Chief Advancement Officer will be charged with amplifying Lovett’s culture of generosity and further elevate the school’s seven-figure annual giving program, the True Blue Annual Fund.
A proven leader with team-building competency and the ability to motivate and inspire, the CAO must be a dynamic fundraising executive who possesses drive, vision, and initiative. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge and prior success in campaigns, major and principal gifts, annual giving, and volunteer engagement.
