Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens
Jacksonville, Florida

The Cummer Museum, an American Alliance of Museums accredited institution, maintains a significant collection of European and American art in the Southeast and the finest collections of Meissen porcelain in the world. The Cummer Museum boasts one of the most important and delightful gardens in Northeast Florida. The Cummer Gardens are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the institution’s history, the collections have served as the cornerstone of the Museum’s mission — to “engage and inspire through the arts, gardens, and education.” Educational programs are presented through the Museum’s nationally recognized interactive learning center, Art Connections, winner of the prestigious Institute of Museum and Library Services Museum Services Award.

The Opportunity

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, with a $6 million operating budget, is eager to hire a Chief Advancement Officer who will lead the effort to support one of Northeast Florida’s cultural gems. Reporting to the Director & CEO and serving on the Senior Executive Team, the CAO will advance the Museum’s fundraising, marketing and communications, and donor events-related efforts.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for a strong leader and visionary who will shape the Advancement Team for the next decade. The ideal candidate will be an expert in fundraising, intuitive, meticulous in detail, deadline driven, and possess excellent writing and public speaking skills. A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and promoting a respectful workplace are fundamental expectations.
