Brown University, located on picturesque College Hill in Providence’s East Side, is the nation’s 7th oldest college. Dating back to 1764, Brown is a member of the Ivy League, boasting an impressive array of undergraduate and graduate programs, a medical school, a school of public health, a college of engineering and professional studies programs. A leading research university, the school is dedicated to the creation of knowledge, active involvement outside the classroom, and an interdisciplinary experience that encourages students to fully engage in the curriculum. In 2014, Brown University created the 10 year vision, “Building on Distinction: A New Plan for Brown.” The school is in the midst of the $3 billion Brown Together comprehensive campaign to raise funds for collaboration and innovation in education and research and capital improvements.

The Opportunity

Brown is seeking an Executive Director, Annual Giving to build upon the school’s development momentum established by the leadership of the Senior Vice President for University Advancement Sergio Gonzalez. The Executive Director will plan, execute and manage a comprehensive annual giving campaign, including strategic oversight of annual funds for the individual schools. This experienced development professional will lead the team to significantly grow the annual giving program, both in overall funds and donor participation. Building networks, growing major gifts, and partnering with the advancement fundraising and stewardship programs will be key components to this role. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years experience, with three years in a supervisory role.
