Significant internal cultural change is required for the University to achieve its targets in significant diversification and growth of research funding. ANU Innovation Institutes provide a structure that allows ANU to utilize new forms of financing and partnerships. Through enhanced partnering with industry, government, non-profits, professions and communities using innovative business models, the Institutes enable the creation of new pathways towards commercial and social applications for ANU research. By implementing a structure adjacent to established research and teaching programs, the Institute model will provide the space and the impetus to explore new interdisciplinary research and education programs with a renewed culture of managed risk taking and innovation.
The Opportunity
In anticipation of the University’s first comprehensive, significant fundraising campaign, the Head of Advancement, Innovation Institutes will be responsible for building, coordinating and executing strong donor engagement plans to support University priorities, primarily through major gifts fundraising. S/He will be a seasoned development leader who can substantially contribute to the strategic growth, management and culture of the Advancement team and the University.
