reshaping and expanding the definition of freedom in America, the American
Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts (ACLU) works daily in the courts, in
legislatures, and in communities to defend and preserve the individual rights
and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Massachusetts
Declaration of Rights. Formed in 1920, the same year as the national ACLU, the
ACLU of Massachusetts is the first state affiliate in the ACLU network. Its
causes range from ending the death penalty and the drug war to privacy, freedom
of expression and religion, and more.
In preparation for its 100th Anniversary celebration in 2020, the ACLU of Massachusetts is seeking an experienced and focused Chief Development Officer to lead its Development Department and the Massachusetts branch’s role to raise $10-$20 million for the ACLU’s national $1 billion Centennial Campaign. The Chief Development Officer will primarily focus on high-impact donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship opportunities, and lead a top-notch development team. The successful candidate will provide visionary, strategic leadership to build lifelong relationships with donors with the goal of generating transformational gifts to support ACLU of MA’s current and future strategic goals.
