The University of San Francisco – the city’s first university – was founded in 1855 and is one of 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. The 55-acre hilltop campus is located in a residential neighborhood between Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate Bridge. USF offers more than 80 undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences, business, and nursing and health professions, and more than 60 graduate programs in business, law, arts and sciences, education, and nursing and health professions. Students come from 50 states and 111 countries, and the more than 117,000 alumni live in 50 states, six U.S. territories, and 139 countries.
The university is currently building the foundation to launch its next ambitious comprehensive campaign. To date, more than $105 million has been raised toward a $500 million goal, and alumni engagement and donor retention is strong and increasing.
