The Opportunity

Rice University invites an experienced and strategic fundraiser to join this high-performing team as Senior Director of Development, Gift Planning. Reporting to the Executive Director of Gift Planning and working closely with advancement leaders across campus, the Senior Director will drive forward a pipeline of major planned and blended gifts—those that combine current and future commitments, non-cash assets, and sophisticated giving strategies.

With a special focus on cultivating alumni, parents, and friends with the capacity to make transformational contributions of $250,000 and above, this individual will help shape the next era of legacy giving at Rice.

The Senior Director will play a key role in advancing Rice’s campaign readiness, partnering closely with Major and Principal Gift Officers, financial professionals, and university leadership. This individual will bring technical acumen and interpersonal excellence and will contribute to the education and mentorship of others across the Development and Alumni Relations team, advancing philanthropic innovation across the institution.
