The Opportunity
AFHU is seeking a passionate, strategic, and relationship-oriented Philanthropy Officer to serve as a frontline fundraiser in its Northeast Region, spanning Pennsylvania to Maine. Based in New York and working in a remote model, this individual will report to the region’s Executive Director and play a central role in building a robust pipeline of major and leadership-level donors.
The Philanthropy Officer will design and implement fundraising strategies that lead to five- and six-figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and next-generation philanthropists. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys curating meaningful donor experiences, such as faculty visits, parlor meetings, and high-level regional events.
The successful candidate will bring creativity, polish, and a deep connection to Israel and higher education, as well as proven success in managing donor portfolios and leading fundraising efforts in complex institutional settings. As an ambassador for Hebrew University, the Philanthropy Officer will stay attuned to key breakthroughs and academic priorities, inspiring donors with the University’s global reach and life-changing work.
