The Opportunity

The Assistant Vice President for Development (AVP) will play a central leadership role in shaping the future of philanthropy at UVM.

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Development Officer, the AVP will lead a dynamic team of Principal, Major, Legacy, and Leadership Giving Officers in a collaborative and high-performance environment. This is a pivotal moment for the Foundation as it prepares for its next comprehensive campaign, expected to launch in 2026 under the leadership of new University President Dr. Marlene Tromp.

In this role, the AVP will establish the annual goals, strategies, and performance metrics that drive donor engagement and philanthropic investment. They will maintain their own portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, model best practices in donor cultivation and solicitation, and ensure alignment with University-wide priorities.

The ideal candidate will bring a record of success securing six- and seven-figure gifts, demonstrated excellence in staff leadership and mentorship, and the ability to translate vision into measurable results. The salary for this role is $175,000-$200,000.
